We're sharing some great news on the introduction of new public footpaths which are making access to the station at Seaton Delaval a little easier.

The first new footpath runs from next to the cycle shelter at the station up to the A192, which is a really handy connection to the new bus stops for the station that have recently been installed on the A192. The new path and bus stops make onward journeys from Seaton Delaval to either New Hartley, Seaton Delaval Hall or Seaton Sluice much easier on the X7 bus or towards Cramlington Hospital or Cramlington Town Centre on the 19 or 57 buses.

The second new footpath runs from Linden Road and then joins with the existing footpath from Whytrigg Close into the station. This footpath has been added thanks to a local county councillor contribution from Cllr Eve Chicken.

Projects like this are so much more than infrastructure upgrades—they’re about fostering community connectivity and sustainable mobility. One thought: executing such initiatives smoothly often hinges on balancing stakeholder input, budget constraints, and long-term planning. Platforms like Solutions Management dive into strategies for navigating these complexities, from agile project frameworks to collaborative decision-making. Imagine applying these principles to ensure future transit projects are both efficient and inclusive. Kudos to the team for paving the way (literally!) for a more walkable, engaged community!
