We will be undertaking works to complete the upgrade of the level crossing on Wansbeck Terrace, ahead of the reopening of the line to passenger trains later this year. The works will be undertaken from 10:00pm Saturday 14 December to 7am Sunday 15 December in the area shown below.
During the works, there may be some localised disruption due to noise, however we will limit this where possible, including by turning equipment off when not in use.
We will need to have a full road closure over the crossing while they are taking place. A diversionary route, which has been agreed with the council, will be in place for vehicles. Pedestrian access will be maintained, although there may be a short delay.
We understand that working near your property is far from ideal and we are sorry in advance for any disruption these essential works may cause. Our teams have been briefed and will be mindful when carrying out this work, making sure all the relevant mitigations are in place to avoid excess noise.
