Overnight Works at Blyth Bebside Level Crossing

Updated: Aug 15

Network Rail will be completing the testing of essential safety equipment that has been installed at Bebside Level Crossing (see image below) as part of the re-opening of the Northumberland Line from Monday 19 August to Monday 2 September.

The works will require a full road closure for vehicles and pedestrians at the level crossing between 10pm to 6am every night, except for Friday 23 August and Friday 30 August when the crossing will stay closed until 7am.

A diversionary route, which has been agreed with the council, will be clearly sign posted. A shuttle bus will be provided to support pedestrian users during this closure.

We understand that working near your homes and working overnight is far from ideal and we am sorry in advance for any disruption these essential works may cause. The Network Rail teams have been briefed and will be mindful when carrying out this work, making sure all the relevant mitigations are in place to avoid excess noise. We will also continue to keep you updated with any work taking place near to your homes.
