Roadworks on South Newsham Road in Blyth

From Monday 2nd October, roadworks will start on South Newsham Road to relocate a water main as part of the works for the construction of the new road and bridge at Newsham station.

The works will take part in three phases with a mix of temporary 3-way traffic lights and Stop/Go boards as the works will include a traffic restriction across the level crossing during one of the phases.

Phase 1 (from Monday 2nd October for 2 weeks) & Phase 3 (from Monday 23rd October for 1 week)

3 way temporary traffic lights will be installed on South Newsham Road at the junction with Sandringham Drive to allow for works to take place along where the red line is shown on the map.

Phase 2 (from Monday 16th October for 1 week)

Traffic will be reduced to one lane to allow for works just to the East of the level crossing at Newsham and controlled with Stop & Go boards as per the map below.

We are expecting that roadworks will continue after this initial 4 week phase of works and further details will be posted as soon as possible.
