From Monday 26th June until Monday 15th September, works will be taking place in the car park at Station Yard (Wansbeck Square) in Ashington as part of the station construction works for the Northumberland Line.
During the closure, there will be no access to the EV charging bays in the car park or to the pedestrian ramp from the station site to Wansbeck Square, alongside the Wilko's building.
Alternative car parking will be provided, as marked below in green, which will accommodate space for up to 49 cars in the new permanent work car park for the duration of the work period. Advanced signage will be in place on Kenilworth Road and in the current car park to advise motorists of this arrangement.
A pedestrian walkway will be in place from the new car parking onto Kenilworth Road as marked above in yellow.
In addition, there will also be some resurfacing work to take place on Kenilworth Road from Monday 7th August for two weeks that will see the road and car park closed, with local diversions signed for vehicles and pedestrians.
